We have a small market gardening business. Our website
We spent nearly 6 years afloat on board our narrowboat ‘Zindagi’ on the British canal and river system from 2007 to 2013 and our boating blog is still there, recording our adventures from day one!
Very occasionally, we also post updates on our life here in the Devon countryside in our home blog.
And then, of course, there is also the ‘Just One Candle’ blog where some of the articles on this site started their life!
Here’s a photo of Val and me when we were on holiday with our family on the edge of the Peak District, April 2023
Keeping up to date
When I first started this website, I suggested that, if you would like me to send you an email when I post any fresh material on the site, you could just send an email to say so, putting ‘One Candle Update’ or something similar in the subject heading. Then, if the new material was not too big, I would usually attach it as a PDF file. Big or small, I would send you a direct link so that you could go straight to it on this site.
I am still very happy to do that, but another way to keep up to date is now to subscribe to Just One Candle on Substack . . .
Here’s a link which will take you to my first post in late May 2026. From there, you can read, follow, subscribe (free), comment . . .
I shall only be posting relatively smaller items there. After a couple of weeks, they will be here as well, along with the bigger stuff, which I shall go on posting direct on this site.
